Регулярные неоднородности плотности в пограничном слое плазмосферы

Аннотация
По измерениям тепловой плазмы на спутниках МАГИОН-5 и ИНТЕРБОЛ-1 в пограничном слое плазмосферы выделены повторяющиеся подобные изменения плотности протонов в зависимости от L-оболочки. Такие вариации плотности имеют следующие характерные особенности: (а) изменения плотности происходят резко и на профиле плотности – зависимости плотности от L или от геомагнитной широты λ – имеют пилообразный характер, плотность протонов в пиках (максимумах) вариаций превышает плотность в минимумах вариаций в 2–8 раз, (б) характерный размер вариаций в радиальном направлении в плоскости геомагнитного экватора ~0.15 RE или ~1000 км; (в) пилообразные изменения плотности протонов в пограничном слое плазмосферы могут охватывать не менее 90° по долготе; (г) регулярные вариации плотности плазмы наблюдались на геомагнитных широтах до 30°, причем эта широта ограничена орбитами спутников, данные которых использовались для анализа. Пилообразные вариации плотности тепловой плазмы, по-видимому, относятся к пространственным структурам, эволюционирующим, но сохраняющимся в пограничном слое плазмосферы, по крайней мере, в течение суток. Неоднородности плазмы наблюдались при достаточно спокойной или немного возмущенной геомагнитной обстановке. Рассмотренные неоднородности, вероятно, являются следствием перестановочной или квазиперестановочной неустойчивости, развивающейся в пограничном слое плазмосферы.
